Recommended voice commands for Media eMCee. Alexa may understand additional natural variations.

Start with: Alexa, open eMCee.

Shuffle available. Open the command to see the explicit shuffle wording.

Shuffles by default. Saying “play” already gives you shuffled playback.

Play Music

Songs, albums, playlists, artists, genres, decades, composers, and currently playing collections.

This narrows a song request to a particular album.

Good and Highly Rated mean 4 stars or higher. Great means 5 stars. Artist results are shuffled.

Decades, early/mid/late decade ranges, and individual years are supported.

Play Hits / Greatest Hits by [ARTIST]JRiver only

Try saying

Play hits by [ARTIST].
Play greatest hits by [ARTIST].

Hits means your 4- and 5-star songs. Greatest Hits means your 5-star songs. If the artist also has an album literally named Hits or Greatest Hits, eMCee asks whether you mean the album or your rated songs. Say “play the album Greatest Hits by [ARTIST]” to explicitly select the album.

Choose whether J River music streams to Alexa or plays locally through J River.

Stereo, Desk, Theater, PC, and Local Mode are aliases for the same local J River playback destination. The alias you choose is remembered.

Echo Mode and Alexa Mode are two names for the same playback destination: J River music plays through the Alexa device. eMCee remembers which name you chose.

Switch the active provider when both JRiver and Plex are connected.
